The first thing I should have asked the "Lady in the Water" or perhaps M Night Shymalan was: "If I retold the movie plot to my friend, would she be inspired enough to watch it?" Your answer would be, "You're an idiot." But since you're not M Night Shyamalan or "Story" (BD Howard), you don't have as much freedom to tell me that the I am. The movie is a recreation of the famed director's imaginative bedtime story for his daughters. But it's not something my friend would watch if I told her it was a thriller. In the first place, what is there to see?

Entertainment Weekly featured a review of LIW movie but I wasn't satisfied with what critiques they came up with. Sure, "narf" is a strange name for a nymph-like creature that lives in a pool passageway of a rundown apartment, but you've probably heard your sister say "narf" while she was snoozing and her saliva was starting to drip. It occurred to me that unlike the movie "Sixth Sense" or "Signs", I couldn't find any reason why anyone should watch another M Night fantasy whose plot is too bland to stir curiosity and controversy. At Sixth Sense, I was like, "What does it feel like to actually see dead people with your third eye?"

But the LIW movie is too fantastic for adults to believe, and too confusing for kids to comprehend. Unlike "The Neverending Story" or even "Indiana Jones", the sense of adventure is really far from exhilarating. It is full of suspense but hardly gripping. Worse, you won't probably remember it two days later. Was it worse than the crappy "Wishmaster"? I don't know if there's a moral lesson learned. Plus, what kind of audience is M Night targeting here, anyway? Maybe just a couple of misty-eyed adolescent girls. We appreciate the effort, but this is still a bedtime story whose value remains awry.

Marriage is one of the most essential factors in uniting two people, albeit they are two opposite individuals, to show their devotion to one another. This is a step to continue a new chapter in their lives. There are different ways to celebrate such a ceremony and preparations are needed to make it a unique experience.
I am always fascinated with people getting married and I look at them as couples who are deeply in love with one another. As for me, I do not know when my faith would bring me to that moment when I shall say "I do" to that person I am romantically involved with (anyway, that's too soon, man, so what the heck, right?).
For actress, Kidman, and country singer, Urban, marriage life is just the start of their remarkable love story. The couple tied the knot around 5pm in Australia. The Sydney Symphony Orchestra accompanied Kidman as she walked down the aisle together with her father, Anthony.
Well, it's about time for Kidman to settle down after her split with ex-husband Tom Cruise whom she was married for more than 10 years. This is her moment once again as she joins Urban in matrimony to say the words, "Til death do us as part." Only time and the strength of their relationship would tell how long they last. Hmm. Let's see now who can survive longer: Tom-Kat or Nicole-Keith?

If you're an aspiring fashion model, what would you do to be on the next cover of Elle Magazine? Being the winner of "America's Top Model" Danielle Evans walked away with not just that but a modeling contract from Ford modeling agency, and CoverGirl deal worth $100,000, and a photo shoot with famed fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon to be in the next issue of one of the hottest fashion magazines on Earth.
"America's Top Model," now in its 6th, is a reality series hosted by no other than Supermodel Tyra Banks. The show follows the lives of young women who all aspire to become the next top model in the US following the steps of Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, among others.
Danielle, who is just twenty years old did everything to win the contest. She even went to a dentist to close the gap between her two front teeth. Some of the girls even dyed their black hair to strawberry-blonde. Tyra and the other judges evaluated the girls base on their performance on the runway, their ability to carry fashion, and of course their looks.

At last week's American Idol episode, we saw rocker Chris Daughtry sing his final song leaving only three AI hopefuls to battle it out in the finale night which is going to air on May 24. Judge Paula Abdul couldn't believe to see Daughtry leave the stage crying her heart out that she couldn't even say a word. Even a half-expectant Simon Cowell was left flabbergasted at how the events turned out that night. Daughtry's elimination shocked the whole audience as well.
With Daughtry stepping out of the circle, that means it's tree on tree among the remaining contenders. Who will the next American Idol be? Will it be one of the two Southern gentlemen: Elliott Yamin and Taylor Hicks or the pretty California girl, Katharine McPherson?
On May 16, Tuesday the three remaining finalists will perform live for the nation, vying for the American Idol title. Each of the contestants will sing their hearts out in hopes of winning America's vote and the coveted opportunity to compete in next week's season finale. Each contestant will sing three songs: one song of the contestant's choice, one song chosen by the Judges and one song chosen by legendary music producer Clive Davis.

As a regular viewer of TV's hottest and most loved series, I was saddened by the news that the Camdens of 7th Heaven fame are finally taking their last bow as the show ends its final season summing up their 10-year-run on WB. Since its debut in August 26, 1996, it has never moved time slot and got people stuck in from of their TV sets every 8 p.m. WB plays house to some of the most loved programs on TV from Dawson's Creek to Smallville and other equally good series.
7th Heaven is the story of a typical American family led by Rev. Eric Camden (Stephen Collins) and his wife Annie (Catherine Hicks) and their children played by Jessica Biel, Barry Watson, Beverley Mitchell, David Gallagher and Mackenzie Rosman as they go through happy and sad moments in their family life.
The series has recently reached its 200th episode and as it comes to a close, TV viewers will surely miss the Camdens. Watching 7th Heaven was in most part a habit for most households. It may look like its the end for the series at this time but a lot is in store for the characters who once became a part of our families.

A heavily-pounced American Idol Top 5 emerged from last week's episode on classic love songs popularized by famous singers like Whitney Houston. The remaining five American Idol hopefuls are battling for this week's top spot singing two songs -- one is from this week's Top 10 charts of Billboards and another song from the year of their birth.
Last week's performance were not very at par with the judges' meticulous ears but with audience, Katharine McPhee's rendition of a Whitney Houston hit was the most applauded. It was surprising though that Kelly Pickler carried out a surprisingly spiritless rendition no wonder it got her voted off. The nights top-scorers are Katharine and Chris Dautry who rocked the stage down. Does it mean that they'll be beating each other come the AI finals night?
Now that these American Idol hopefuls have been leveled down to only 5 remaining contenders namely Elliott Yamin, Paris Bennett, Chris Daughtry, Katharine McPhee, and Taylor Hicks; the competition gets hotter and hotter. Nevertheless, all of them have a very good chance of becoming this season's * American Idol.

"V for Vendetta" has topped the box office charts this week. The movie was based on the classic striking novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. Despite the latter's request to not be associated with the movie because it was not what he imagined the movie would be, "V for Vendetta" reeled in $26.1 million dollars during the weekend.
The story stars Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving (the man behind the Guy Fawkes mask). V, hidden behind a mask, fights off the state police and ultimately the major villain in the movie, the minister of Chancellor Sutler. Sutler watches his whole territory through videos. The minister also has a lust for young flesh even though he is a priest. V first appears on screen to save Natalie Portman from arrest. And everything else falls in its place.
The movie, although many expected to become disappointed, was a smash hit especially for the boys who love a new action-adventure movie and those girls who dig Natalie Portman with a shaved head. The movie is expected to gross more while it's still in cinemas. Watch it and judge it yourselves.

Fresh from a family edition, the Amazing Race is set to fascinate its viewers again with its ninth season, which will be airing this February. This ninth season would be featuring five continents. Most of the teams are composed of dating couples and friends.

Dave Chappelle is one of the top stand-up comedians in the U.S. He made headlines last year when he suddenly disappeared, leaving behind his "Chappelle Show" on Comedy Central. Along with his show, he walked away from a $50 million dollar television deal. So what's up with the guy?
The comedian was finally tracked down in South Africa. According to Chappelle, he was doing some soul searching because he was unhappy with how the show was going. Rumor has it that he suffered a mental breakdown. The comedian is expected to appear on Oprah this friday to explain what actually happened.

It seems like yesterday when Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow announced to the public that she is pregnant. A lot has happened since that time, which included her getting married to Coldplay front man Chris Martin.
Now, Hollywood is already buzzing with the news that she is already pregnant for the second time around. She confirmed the news during the premiere of her latest movie Proof, which also stars Hollywood legend Anthony Hopkins. The happy couple is expecting the second addition to their pretty small household this year.

In the recently concluded Golden Globe ceremony, the movie Walk the Line took home two of the night's major honors for the musical or comedy picture, the best actress for Reese Witherspoon and the best actor for Joaquin Phoenix. Walk the Line, directed by James Mangold, is a film about the life journey of music icon Johnny Cash and his love, June Carter. Walk the Line also bagged the best motion picture for the same category. With these awards, things might be looking up for the film even at the Oscars.

Monday night's 63rd Golden Globe ceremony is a winning event for the movie Brokeback Mountain, an Ang Lee-directed film about a relationship between two cowboys. Brokeback Mountain bagged four awards which included Best Motion Picture (Drama), Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Original Song. If the Golden Globe honors received by Brokeback Mountain are any indication, the movie might be well on its way to dominating the Oscars. Brokeback Mountain stars real-life couple Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger, Jake Gylenhaal, and Anne Hathaway.
