The first thing I should have asked the "Lady in the Water" or perhaps M Night Shymalan was: "If I retold the movie plot to my friend, would she be inspired enough to watch it?" Your answer would be, "You're an idiot." But since you're not M Night Shyamalan or "Story" (BD Howard), you don't have as much freedom to tell me that the I am. The movie is a recreation of the famed director's
imaginative bedtime story for his daughters. But it's not something my friend would watch if I told her it was a thriller. In the first place, what is there to see?
