But the
LIW movie is too fantastic for adults to believe, and too confusing for kids to comprehend. Unlike "The Neverending Story" or even "Indiana Jones", the sense of adventure is really far from exhilarating. It is full of suspense but hardly gripping. Worse, you won't probably remember it two days later. Was it worse than the crappy "Wishmaster"? I don't know if there's a moral lesson learned. Plus, what kind of audience is M Night targeting here, anyway? Maybe just a couple of misty-eyed adolescent girls. We appreciate the effort, but this is still a bedtime story whose value remains awry.
